Mickelsen won two opening matches in the Red Group of the Youth Final Tournament. In the 1st round, he defeated Nishesh Basavareddy (USA, ATP 138), and in the 2nd round he defeated Luc Van Asch (France, ATP 128).

This was the second meeting of the rivals. In 2024, Alex and Luca played each other in the last quartet round at Next Gen, when the Frenchman won in five games.
In the final round of the Red Group, Mickelsen will play against Shan Junchen, who lost both opening matches.
