Fighting continues in Chasovoy Yar, the situation is difficult and tense, but the Russians do not manage to capture the city. This was stated by the spokesman of the Khortytsia operational-strategic group of troops, Viktor Tregubov, on the air of the telethon on Thursday, reports UNN.

There is still fighting in the city itself. There were certain counterattacks by Ukrainian troops. There, the Russians, among other things, try to hide in the pipes of the canal, which runs through the city itself, and try to attack the Ukrainian forces, including through this canal. In general, the situation is tense and complicated, but let’s be honest, it has been complicated and tense for quite some time. For some reason, the Russians have been unable to occupy this settlement for months. Yes, it is important for them, yes, it is also appropriate at the top, yes, they make every possible effort. But again, unfortunately, it is more about the destruction of the city than attempts to capture it

The spokesman also commented on the situation in Velika Novosilka. According to him, the enemy makes, in particular, mixed assaults, in which both infantry and equipment are used.

“Velika Novosilka is now in a difficult situation, and Ukrainian soldiers are doing everything to prevent the further advance of the enemy. Now the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is directly in the area of ​​our responsibility, and the relevant directions are the most difficult directions, such as Velika Novosilka, as – the Pokrovsky direction, are under constant control,” says Tregubov. “There is no complete encirclement there, there is a risk of operational encirclement, but efforts are being made to prevent it and to prevent the Russians from blocking the approaches to the city,” the spokesman said.

In addition, he added that the enemy in this direction has a great advantage in terms of personnel.
