The American’s team planned to organize a fight with compatriot Errol Spence (28-1, 22 KOs), but this fight will not take place – the World Boxing Organization (WBO) refused to sanction this meeting.
“The WBO will not sanction Fundor-Spence because Errol has been inactive for one year and five months; was defeated by technical knockout in the last fight; is not included in the ranking of the organization and has never fought in this division,” said the president of the organization, Gustavo Olivieri.
Fundora’s promoters are considering other options, but so far there are no agreements with potential opponents of the champion. It is interesting that the mandatory contender for the WBC title in this weight is the Ukrainian boxer Serhii Bogachuk.
