“After more than 20 years of failed attempts, we have finally approved a plan to permanently close the FBI headquarters in the Hoover Building and move the staff to a secure, modern facility,” he added.

The Hoover Building, which opened in 1975, has long had critics who argued that it was outdated and no longer suitable for the FBI. However, disputes over whether and where to move the headquarters continued for years.

In 2023, under Joe Biden’s administration, the US Congress approved funding to build a new FBI headquarters in Maryland. Now, apparently, these plans have been canceled.

Implementing Trump’s policy, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio deprived USAID of its administrative independence, and on July 1 announced the termination of its activities.

Currently, the US Agency for International Development is in the process of liquidation, during which a small part of the programs was transferred to the State Department, and the rest were discontinued.
