The FBI said it is “investigating what appears to be an attempted assassination” of US presidential candidate Donald Trump at his Florida golf club.

This incident became the second attempt on the life of the former president in the last two months.
On July 13, 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks opened fire with a rifle at a Donald Trump campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. The ex-president was wounded in the ear. The shooter was eliminated, one of the participants of the rally also died, two more were wounded.
New attempt on Trump: what is known
On Sunday, September 15, the headquarters of the candidate for the presidency of the United States from the Republican Party announced that there was a shooting near Donald Trump, but he is safe.
A short time later, the Martin County Sheriff’s Office took into custody a possible suspect believed to be connected to the shooting incident.
Donald Trump himself said that he was not injured during the shooting.
As Fox News reported, citing law enforcement sources, the suspect in the shooting was identified as Ryan Wesley Root.
Root was allegedly armed with an assault rifle outside the Trump International Golf Club as the former US president played golf in the afternoon.
According to law enforcement officials, the suspect was allegedly able to push the muzzle of the rifle through the fence. He was 300-500 yards from Trump when the Secret Service spotted Root and opened fire. The man managed to escape, but was later arrested.
