Former WBA world champion in the lightest weight category, Ukrainian Artem Dalakyan (22–1, 15 KOs) talked about his plans for 2026 and also admitted that he is not going to end his career and plans to hold a title fight.

“I’m not tired of boxing yet. My body is not tired from these loads. I am in a good mood and have no injuries. I need one or two months and I will be in shape again. I will be fully ready to box for the title of world champion.

In 2026, I want to open a boxing gym in Los Angeles and a boxing gym in Kyiv. It will be such a bridge – the boys will gain experience in Kyiv, gain a rating, and then I would take them to America. Would give them good matches with good fees.

There should be a flag of Ukraine in the hall in Los Angeles. I will be our representative there. I am the ambassador of the Boxing Federation of Ukraine, and I am ready to wait for our Ukrainian boxers there. This is my goal,” said Artem.

Dalakyan had 23 fights in the professional ring and is a former WBA world champion. He last fought in January 2024, when he lost to Seigo Akui from Japan by unanimous decision.

This defeat was the first and only failure of the Ukrainian throughout his professional career.
