The ex-goalkeeper of the Ukrainian national team called the problem of the current Shakhtar

Former goalkeeper of Shakhtar Donetsk and the Ukrainian national team Yuriy Virt expressed his opinion about why now Marino Pushych’s wards are not impressive, occupying the 7th place in the UPL standings, although in their last match in Lviv they defeated “Karpaty” with a score of 5:2.

“In the match against Carpathians, Shakhtar made a lot of mistakes in defense. Especially when Pydlepenets scored for them after a corner kick: Yevgeny hit from the goalkeeper’s area and nobody took care of him. The defensive team is not improving.

There are problems in defense – it’s obvious. However, complaints and huge questions before the start of the Champions League are not only for Konopla and Bondar, but for all players. The team as a whole is not improving in defense.

Somehow, Shakhtar’s rival teams in the UPL create chances at their goal very easily. I don’t even remember the last time the Miners conceded four goals in the domestic arena, as it was against Alexandria,” explained Virt.

Earlier, Virt named the Shakhtar players who failed to start the season in the UPL.
