“If, after June 5, at the time of the completion of autonomous trade measures for export from Ukraine to the EU (so-called trade visa waiver), the European Commission and Ukraine will not have time to make the necessary amendments to the Ukraine-EU-EU free trade agreement, Brussels will offer transitional measures to protect Ukrainian exporters.”, – WRITE: www.pravda.com.ua

“As you all know, autonomous trade measures expire on June 5. The commission does not intend to continue the autonomous trade measures after that date,” Gill said.
He recalled that the European Commission’s priority is “Working on Viewing a Detained and Comprehensive Free Trade Area between Ukraine and the EU (PVZVT).
“We have clearly stated this from the outset. We want to improve the WZWT to offer long -term predictability and stability to operators both in the EU and Ukraine,” the European Commission spokesman stressed.
According to him, such a transition will strengthen the prospect of Ukraine’s gradual movement for accession to the EU, and will help to resolve sensitive issues from the EU, in particular, in the agro -food sector.
“We know that there are temporal restrictions. Therefore, we are also considering possible transitional measures in the event that negotiations on VVZWT revision are not completed and applied by June 6. So we will also discuss these potential transitional measures with Ukraine,” Olof Gill said.
Recall that the European Commission does not plan to continue the autonomous trade measures for Ukraine (the so -called “trade visa waiver”), which is valid until June 5. However, it is planned to ensure a smooth transition to a new scheme where all conditions of trade liberalization will be recorded in the Free Trade Agreement between Ukraine and the EU.
