But the abduction, torture and murder of Ukrainian journalist Victoria Roshchina moved me not only as an ambassador, but also as a mother, woman and admirer of indomitable and heroic women who do not even retreat before military cruelty.

Prehistory:
- Roshchyna disappeared on August 3, 2023 in the territory occupied by Russia, where she made a report.
- In May 2024, Russia for the first time acknowledged that she had detained Roshchina. The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation sent a letter confirming her father, Vladimir Rochina.
- On October 10, 2024, the head of the press service of the coordination headquarters Petro Yatsenko in Teletrum reported that Roshchina had died in Russian prison.
- Investigators “Investigation.Info” found out that Rochina was cruelly tortured in Russian captivity: her body had knife wounds, she was beaten by a current, and the Russian colony staff hid her from inspections.
