Details: Maternova reminded that half a year ago, the EU approved a scheme for using revenues from frozen rockets for the benefit of Ukraine. In August, the first 1.4 billion euros were allocated from them and several member countries received financing for new arms supplies.

Direct speech of the ambassador: “But it is much more important that 400 million of this amount will go to Ukrainian defense enterprises. It was Denmark that came up with such a system. It was the first country that concluded a contract and paid for the production of “Bohdan” howitzers for the Armed Forces.

So, we poured 400 million euros through Denmark into the Ukrainian defense industry. Agree, this is quite a significant amount… And this is such exquisite justice, right? You are making howitzers with the funds of Russian frozen assets.”

Details: Maternova clarified that Denmark contributed some of its own funds to the amount of 400 million Russian rockets and thus placed a large order at the Ukrainian military plant.

“From the next tranche, an even larger amount will go directly to the Ukrainian defense industry. Because you produce products of the same quality for less money, you do it faster, you have lower transport and logistics costs, and in addition – manufacturers pay taxes in Ukraine and help support the economy

This is something that I am especially proud of, because I was one of the most ardent defenders of this idea. Therefore, I am very glad that now this system has really worked,” the ambassador concluded.

Prehistory:

  • Ukraine has repeatedly called on its partners to allocate funds for the production of the weapons it needs by the Ukrainian defense industry.
