The European Union allocated 12 million euros to Ukraine for the implementation of four new projects aimed at financial support of the innovative sector. The presentation of the initiatives took place in Kyiv.

During the press conference, EU Ambassador to Ukraine Jose Manuel Pinto Teixeira noted that the policy of the European Union is based on the principles of competition and cooperation, so the EU has no reason to be wary of the strengthening of innovations and science-intensive technologies in Ukraine.

“If we share our experience with Ukrainian scientists, we will all benefit from it, as we will live in a better world,” he emphasized.

According to the diplomat, the EU is happy to share its experience with Ukrainian scientists.

The purpose of the four projects is to stimulate local ingenuity, support research to create innovations, their implementation in Ukrainian production and further transfer of business. Implementation will continue for the next two years in close cooperation with Ukrainian scientific circles, inventors, representatives of small and medium-sized businesses and industry.

The managers and recipients of funds include the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Education and Science, the State Agency for Investments and Innovations, the State Committee for Regulatory Policy and Entrepreneurship, as well as small and medium-sized business entities.

The implementation of the following projects is foreseen:

“Improving strategies, policies and innovation regulation in Ukraine”,
“Development of financial schemes and infrastructure to support innovation in Ukraine”,
“Support of knowledge-intensive innovative enterprises and the process of technology transfer for business in Ukraine”,
“Joint Support Office to Facilitate Integration into the European Union Research Area”.

On February 11, the European Parliament supported the granting of a loan to Ukraine in the amount of 90 billion euros for 2026-2027.
