Russian occupiers shot four more Ukrainian prisoners of war in the Pokrovsky district, an investigation has been launched, reports UNN with reference to the Office of the Prosecutor General.

Details

According to operational data, on November 22, 2024, representatives of the Soviet Union launched an attack on the position of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, located near the village of Petrivka, Pokrovsky district. During the enemy assault, four servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were forced to surrender. Immediately after that, the occupiers opened fire on them with automatic weapons.

“… a pre-trial investigation has been started on the fact of violation of laws and customs, combined with intentional murder (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine),” the message reads.

Deliberate killing of prisoners of war is a gross violation of the Geneva Conventions and is classified as a grave international crime.

Currently, investigative actions are ongoing to establish all the circumstances of the crime and the persons involved in its commission.
