On Friday, January 17, the Embassy of Albania started its work in Kyiv. This is the first embassy to open in Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation.
This was announced by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Sybiga.
“Today in Kyiv, together with my colleague Igli Hassani, we opened the Embassy of the Republic of Albania. This is the first embassy opened in Ukraine during the full-scale invasion of Russia. It is a symbol of Ukrainian-Albanian stability, unity and a common future in the EU and NATO,” the head of the Foreign Ministry wrote in his X.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Albania, Igli Hassani, in his turn, emphasized that his country supports the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
“I confirm Albania’s steadfast support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine and express our deep admiration for the strength and determination of the Ukrainian government and its people in their determination. The international community must continue to provide strong political, diplomatic and humanitarian support to Ukraine, and we are fully committed to fulfilling our role in this important mission,” he wrote.
