The Director of the Charitable Foundation was looking for a military and volunteer, imitating the assistance of the Armed Forces – the prosecutor’s office

Lviv reported suspicion to the director of the Charitable Foundation, who had been exploring the servicemen and a volunteer for more than UAH 1.3 million under the pretext of delivery of cars and equipment for the Armed Forces.

According to the investigation, in the period from December 2023 to February 2025, a Lviv resident implemented a fraudulent scheme for the seizure of funds that were assigned to the needs of the Armed Forces.

Using the Charitable Foundation he created, the suspect imitated assistance to the Armed Forces. In particular, he promised the victim to help with the purchase of transport and equipment for the needs of the military. It was a total of 7 cars of different models, thermal imaging sights and quadcopters.

Using the trust of the victims, the suspect received funds from them for the goods ordered. Payment was made both directly on the bank cards of the suspect and through one of the electronic payment systems. However, the man did not deliver the goods ordered from him, and the received funds disposed of at his own discretion, they say in the prosecutor’s office.

Law enforcement officers documented that in this way he had deceived four servicemen and one volunteer.

The total amount of losses caused to the victim is almost UAH 1.3 million.

At the request of the prosecution, the court arrested the suspect with the right of bail.
