In Kyiv, the director of Lyceum No. 109, Vitalia Polyakova, resigned of her own free will. At the beginning of September, she did not allow students who were wearing shorts to school, which caused a public outcry.
This is reported by UP Life.
Polyakov submitted her application for dismissal on December 16, Education Ombudsman Nadiya Leshchyk said with reference to the response of the Department of Education and Science of the Kyiv City Council’s executive body to her request.
Previously, the ombudsman drew attention to the delay in the official investigation, because after the incident the director was often on sick leave or on vacation. Due to doubts about the legality of sick leave letters, Leshchyk sent inquiries to the Pension Fund and the National Health Service of Ukraine.
“According to the legislation, the inspection of sick leave is initiated by the employer. In this case, it is the Department of Education and Innovative Development of the Pechersk RDA,” the educational ombudsman noted.
We will remind you about the Scandal in the capital’s gymnasium: the principal did not let the children go to class because of their shorts.
The ombudsman called the director’s actions illegal and endangering children’s lives.
We will remind, in Kyiv, an official was exposed for embezzlement of almost ₴2 million on the repair of a shelter at a school.
