Details: Brokas, who briefly served as Deputy Minister of Culture of Lithuania, resigned on Friday, November 7. He explained this decision by “a sense of responsibility”.

“In recent days, there have been a lot of discussions, interpretations and speculations about my personality in the public sphere. Some of it was not based on the truth, but was rather an attack on my reputation, directed not only against me, but also against the very idea of culture – free, open and creative,” he said.
Therefore, Brokas announced that he was resigning so that the principle “culture begins with dignity” was preserved.
“So that the ministry could work without the shadow of destruction, and society had no doubts about its transparency,” he said.
It is worth noting that earlier the politician stated that he had been to Russia several times and visited the capital of the aggressor country after the occupation of Crimea in 2014.
Prime Minister Inga Ruginene promised in the near future to present a candidate for the post of Minister of Culture.
The position of the Minister of Culture of Lithuania has remained vacant since the previous head of the department, Ignotas Adomavicius, lasted only a week and was forced to resign.
Before that, they were held in Lithuania protests against the appointment Adomavichyus, who represents the far-right Zorya Nimanu party, to the position of Minister of Culture.
