Defense forces carried out an airstrike on the territory of the Chasovoyarsk Refractory Combine, which confirms the transition of the combine under the control of the Russian army, Ukrainian Pravda reports.
The publication notes that Lt. Col. Dmytro Zaporozhets, the spokesman of the Luhansk OTU, announced the attack on the refractory plant in Chasovoy Yar on the air of the telethon.
“The enemy tried to gain a foothold on the territory of the refractory plant, attacking in small and medium-sized groups. Thanks to the coordinated actions of the BPS units, he was discovered in one of the rooms on the territory of the refractory plant and an airstrike was carried out. The enemy suffered losses,” the publication quoted his words as saying.
The UP also refers to an informed interlocutor who stated that the Defense Forces control approximately 30% of the territory of Chasovoy Yar.
In addition, the newspaper published a video of the airstrike on the Chasivoyarsk Refractory Plant, provided by the Luhansk OTU UP.
The article emphasizes that the site of the plant was a reliable stronghold for the Defense Forces, and its loss means that the Ukrainian military has retreated into a residential area heavily damaged by shelling.

On January 16, Dmytro Zaporozhets, spokesman for the Luhansk operational-tactical group of troops, said that the most difficult situation is currently observed in Toretsk and Chasovoy Yar.
According to him, during bad weather, the Russian occupying forces use the pipes of the Siverskyi Donets-Donbas canal as a shelter.
“Occupants accumulate in these pipes during foggy weather to then move deep into the Time Rift. Our drone operators record such movements, try to use all possible means to destroy the enemy,” Zaporozhets noted.
