At least 126 people were killed and 188 injured after a powerful earthquake struck a remote region of Tibet on Tuesday morning.

The epicenter of the earthquake in Tingri County, located high on the Tibetan Plateau, is close to the border with Nepal, about 80 km north of the world’s highest mountain, Mount Everest.
Earthquakes were felt even in the capital of Nepal, Kathmandu.
In Tibet, thanks to the rescue work, it was possible to free more than 400 people from the rubble. More than 30,000 residents were also evacuated.
What preceded: Earlier it was reported that a powerful earthquake occurred in the southwestern Chinese region of Tibet on the border with Nepal, as a result of which 53 people were killed and another 62 were injured.
Later it became known about 95 dead and 130 injured due to the earthquake.
