According to the investigation, on November 13, 2023, a boy, who was 1 year and 10 months old, underwent dental procedures under general anesthesia at a communal medical facility in Ternopil. During treatment, the child’s blood pressure began to drop and she was taken to the intensive care unit. The boy died in intensive care.
According to the forensic medical examination, the previous cause of death was acute pulmonary heart failure.
Under the procedural guidance of the Ternopil District Prosecutor’s Office, the doctor was informed of the suspicion of improper performance of professional duties (Part 2 of Article 140 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
Currently, the question of choosing a preventive measure for the suspect and removing her from her position is being resolved.
