The cyber police exposed a scheme for reselling railway tickets to Europe

A group of people who resold international railway tickets at triple the price were exposed in the capital. Attackers gained unauthorized access to accounts and created an artificial deficit. And then they resold tickets through social networks. This was reported to the Cyber ​​Police, he reports UNN.

As the Cyber ​​Police pointed out, the high demand for rail travel has provoked the emergence of a “black” market and those who want to get rich illegally by reselling tickets for the most hyped flights.

The investigation established that the brokers, receiving unauthorized access to the accounts of third parties, bought tickets for popular railway routes to European countries, creating an artificial shortage for other passengers. After that, the attackers resold the tickets at a price three times higher than their real value on various Internet platforms, including in groups of Telegram channels.

The police identified at least five people who sold “trips” according to the specified scheme, and conducted a series of searches at their places of residence in Kyiv and the Kyiv region, from where they seized computer equipment and gadgets containing accounts of third parties, bank cards and a large number of purchased tickets to various destinations.

Criminal proceedings have been initiated under Part 4 of Art. 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — fraud, and Part 5 of Art. 361 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — unauthorized interference in the operation of information (automated), electronic communication, information and communication systems, electronic communication networks, committed during martial law.
