He published his position on this issue in the social network Kh.

According to Díaz-Canel, external pressure is unacceptable for his country. He emphasized that Cuba is a free and sovereign state and no one has the right to impose decisions on it.

“Cuba is an independent and sovereign country. No one will dictate to us what to do,” Díaz-Canel wrote.

Moreover, he noted that the US has no moral right to lecture Havana.

“Those who turn everything into a business, even human lives, have no moral right to point Cuba to anything, absolutely nothing. Those who are hysterically attacking our country today are doing it because they are sick with rage because of the sovereign decision of this people to choose their own political model,” the Cuban president said in a statement.

Cuba and the USA: the latest newsEarlier, UNIAN reported that US President Donald Trump stated that Venezuela has been supplying oil and paying money to Cuba for the past decades, receiving in exchange the services of the Cuban “security services”. In particular, we are talking about personal security officers for Nicolás Maduro and his predecessor Hugo Chávez. The head of the White House emphasized that this is now in the past, since most of these Cubans died during the US attack on the capital of Venezuela. Trump added that “there will be no more Cuban oil or money.”

We also wrote that, according to Trump, the United States may strike Iran again if the killings of protestors continue. The US president noted that “things are going very badly” in Iran. Trump, when asked about the possibility of increasing pressure on the communist regime in Cuba, told the journalist that he did not think that much more pressure could be applied, except “just to go in there and blow the place to hell.”
