The Kyiv Court of Appeals released from custody the official of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau, Ruslan Magamedrasulov, who was involved in the interrogation of those involved in the Mindich case, after which a criminal case was opened against him.

This was reported by the Anti-Corruption Center.

As the CPC writes, this was already the fourth attempt to consider an appeal against Magamedrasulov’s preventive measure. So, on November 12, the court postponed the meeting because it did not have time to get acquainted with the materials, and on November 26, the meeting was not held due to an anonymous notification about mining.

During the meeting, the prosecutor noted that Magamedrasulov’s preventive measure was “fully justified”, but admitted that the relevance of the risks had somewhat decreased.

“There are sufficient reasons to believe that it is possible to apply a preventive measure without detention, namely house arrest,” the prosecutor of the Central Committee of the People’s Republic of Ukraine quotes as saying.

The court partially satisfied the appeals, deciding to release Magamedrasulov from custody in the courtroom.

It will be recalled that detective Magamedrasulov and his father were sent to custody back in July on suspicion of aiding Russia. According to the investigation, the detective helped his father (who has a passport of the Russian Federation) sell technical hemp to Dagestan. In addition, the SBU stated that Magamedrasulov’s mother lives in Kyiv, but allegedly receives a pension from the “DNR” and publishes pro-Russian comments on social networks.

Magamedrasulov himself is being investigated for possible contacts with Russian special services. According to the SBU, he was in “close contact” with the fugitive People’s Deputy from the banned OPZZH party Fedor Khristenko, who was “recruited by the FSB a long time ago.” And during the search of Khristenko’s house, they found “NABU materials containing official and confidential information.”

Magamedrasulov confirmed who was tortured in the detention center, and did not deny the authenticity of the so-called “Mindic tapes”.

Meanwhile, NABU said that Magamedrasulov helped obtain a number of key pieces of evidence in the case of corruption at Energoatom.

On December 2, the Pechersk District Court of Kyiv released Sentyabr Magamedrasulov, the father of NABU detective Ruslan Magamedrasulov, both suspects in the “organization of illegal trade with the Russian Federation” from the pre-trial detention center.
