The Pechersk District Court granted the request of the SBI investigator to extend the detention period of the ex-commander of the 155th brigade, Colonel Dmytro Ryumshin, until December 12, 2025 inclusive. The court determined the amount of bail in 10,001,484 hryvnias.
Details of the court session:
- Prosecution position: The prosecutor considers the suspicion to be well-founded. According to the prosecution, the colonel, while in office, did not send 186 messages about soldiers who went to the SZCH (voluntarily leaving the military unit), which made it impossible to find them and serve their punishment. The prosecutor asked to extend the preventive measure for 60 days and leave a bail in the amount of UAH 10,997,000.
- Defense position: Lawyer Andrii Yosypov noted that the amount of the bail is excessive, since the joint salary of Ryumshin and his wife (who is also a military woman) together is about 69 thousand UAH per month. The defense attorney emphasized that the pre-trial investigation has already been completed, but prosecutors, in his opinion, have not collected any evidence intention the crime that must be proven in each episode of SZH.
- Court decision: Judge Oleg Bilotserkivets granted the request of the investigator. The amount of the deposit was reduced by only about 800,000 hryvnias from the initially requested amount.
Lawyer Yosypov stated that the decision to extend the preventive measure will be appealed. He also informed that this meeting in the Pechersk Court is the last one, as the indictment will be handed over soon, and the case will be referred to another court, probably to Zaporizhzhia, for consideration on the merits.
Earlier, the Kyiv Court of Appeals kept Dmytro Ryumshin, the ex-commander of the 155th separate mechanized brigade named after Anna of Kyiv, in custody. At the same time, his bail was reduced from 90 to 50 million hryvnias.
