The Pechersk District Court of Kyiv kept Roman Hrynkevich, suspected of supplying low-quality clothing for the Armed Forces, in custody until January 21, 2025 and reduced the bail amount.

Details: It is noted that the suspect’s bail was reduced to UAH 302 million.

Prehistory:

  • On December 29, 2023, SBI employees detained a Lviv businessman, one of the largest suppliers of the Ministry of Defense, who offered a $500,000 bribe to one of the heads of the Bureau’s Main Investigative Department for assistance in returning property seized from companies under his control during the investigation. UP found out that it was Ihor Hrynkevich.
  • On December 30, 2023, Grynkevych was placed in custody with the possibility of bail in the amount of 429 million 440 thousand. UAH
  • Hrynkevich’s son stated that his family’s activities took place in accordance with current legislation and the scandal was ordered.
  • On the afternoon of January 11, 2024, the State Bureau of Investigation reported that as part of the investigation into the fact of the supply of goods for the needs of the MoU, searches were conducted at the residence and work addresses of the Lviv businessman, as well as at the addresses of the directors and offices and companies controlled by him. The process of seizure of assets has been initiated.
  • The National Agency of Ukraine for identification, search and management of assets obtained from corruption and other crimes showed the list of wanted assets of Hrynkevich and his relatives, among them – elite real estate, luxury cars and weapons.
  • In the evening of January 18, the law enforcement officers declared Roman Hrynkevich wanted. On January 22, he was detained in Odesa.
  • On October 21, SBI employees completed a pre-trial investigation into Lviv businessman Ihor Hrynkevich and four other members of a criminal organization who supplied poor-quality military clothing for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for more than 1 billion hryvnias.
