“Moscow’s second Western District Court sentenced a teacher of business school Eldar Marchenko to 16 years of strict regime on charges of involvement in a terrorist attack using drones in Kursk”, – WRITE: www.radiosvoboda.org
The prosecutor’s office asked him to condemn him to 19 years of strict regime – almost the maximum term under this article.
The court found Marchenko guilty that at the task of Ukrainian special services he came from Moscow to Kursk and handed over the coordinates of the local airport to curators with the help of a smartphone. According to the prosecution, at least two drones that “did not reach their goal” have arrived to Kursk.
One of the evidence of Marchenko’s guilt, the prosecutor’s office called his administrative responsibility for participation in rallies and “offensive comments on the president.”
Eldar Marchenko did not admit guilt. His lawyer Natalia Tikhonova previously submitted to the Investigative Committee an application for torture.
