According to the court’s decision, Shevchenko will remain in the pre-trial detention center until at least March 7. At the same time, the possibility of depositing bail is not provided for him.
We will remind, back in November it became known that Yevgeny Shevchenko is suspected of systematic information-subversive activities in the interests of the Russian Federation. In particular, he spread Russian propaganda about the war in Ukraine and Ukrainian defenders. Shevchenko used his own YouTube and Telegram channels to spread fakes.
At the same time, he visited Belarus even after the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russians in Ukraine, in order to establish electricity purchase schemes for companies under his control.
Previously, the head of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, said that deputy Yevgeny Shevchenko helped Ukraine make contact with Minsk in order to prevent Belarus from being drawn into the war.
In March 2022, Yevhen Shevchenko tried to leave the country across the border with Poland, allegedly for negotiations with Lukashenka. He was caught and sent back to Kyiv.
