Today, December 18, the Solomian District Court of the city of Kyiv made a decision regarding the further detention of businessman Roman Hrynkevich. He is one of the key figures in the high-profile case of the supply of substandard tangible property for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

This is reported by “Suspilne”.

According to the court’s verdict, the term of detention was extended until February 14, 2026, but the amount of the cash bail, which allows him to be released during the investigation, was significantly revised. If earlier the amount was more than 69 million hryvnias, now it is 34 million 822 thousand hryvnias.

During the court session, the defense insisted on the transfer of Roman Hrynkevich to 24-hour house arrest. The lawyers argued that this was due to the deterioration of the defendant’s health in the conditions of the pretrial detention center and stated that there was no real component of the crime, calling the case “pressure on business.” Instead, the prosecution convinced the court that the risks remained high. The prosecutor emphasized that the suspect owns real estate in the Czech Republic and has the resources to hide abroad, and can also exert pressure on witnesses among officials of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

In addition to Roman Hrynkevich, other participants in the case — Volodymyr Tymkiv, Viktor Kuzminskyi, and Andrii Kolotylo — received similar decisions to extend their arrest.

We will remind that according to the version of the investigation, the Hrynkevich family, through controlled companies, organized a scheme for the supply of clothes, which by their characteristics did not meet quality standards, which caused significant losses to the state budget during martial law. The investigation is ongoing, and law enforcement officers continue to gather evidence implicating all involved in the large-scale abuse of defense orders.

In January 2024, after the searches, Roman Hrynkevich moved to an illegal position and, following the conspiracy, left Kyiv – first to the suburbs, then to Odessa.

January 22, 2024, by Roman Hrynkevich caught in Odessa, where he was hiding from the investigation.

Roman Hrynkevich’s father, businessman Ihor Hrynkevich, was also arrested earlier. It preceded him detention in December 2023 for attempting to bribe one of the heads of the Main Investigative Department of the State Security Bureau.
