The Kyiv Court of Appeal, in the Appeal of Prosecutors of the Podilsky District Prosecutor’s Office, changed a measure of restraint by the Mercedes driver, suspected of beating a cyclist in Podil.
The court replaced the night house arrest for detention with the possibility of making a bail of UAH 5 million. The new preventive measure will be valid until November 25, 2025.
In another criminal proceedings to leave the victim without the assistance of the driver, the detention has already been chosen without the right to make bail until October 31, 2025.
Recall that the incident happened because of a conflict on Podil between the 44-year-old Mercedes G-500 driver and a 40-year-old cyclist through parking at bicycle strips. An annoyed driver hit the cyclist several times on the face, which causes him to lose consciousness and fell on the asphalt.
The driver’s actions are qualified as a deliberate task of grievous bodily harm (Part 1 of Article 121 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The pre -trial investigation is ongoing.
In Kiev, the Mercedes driver hit a cyclist and left unconscious on the sidelines. Currently, the victim is treated in one of the capital’s medical institutions.
