We will remind you that on August 7, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy submitted a draft law on multiple citizenship to the Verkhovna Rada. In addition to establishing permissible cases of multiple citizenships, the draft law also defines the grounds for loss of Ukrainian citizenship. Among other things, this is the voluntary acquisition of citizenship of the aggressor state.
This was preceded by the president’s promise to initiate a draft law on the introduction of multiple citizenship in Ukraine, which will allow all ethnic Ukrainians and their descendants from all over the world (with the exception of the Russian Federation) to have citizenship.
