The Verkhovna Rada approved in the first reading the bill on payment of pensions to prosecutors. In particular, they will be forbidden to receive retirement payments during work.

It is a draft law No. 12278, which is proposed to change the terms of payment and recalculation of pensions of prosecutors.
In particular, it is envisaged that prosecutors will be paid pension for service only after dismissal from the prosecutor’s office.
During the period of work in the positions of prosecutors, civil servants, judges, those officials who are entitled to a pension on a general basis will be paid a pension in the amount calculated in accordance with the Law “On Compulsory State Pension Insurance”.
At the same time, restrictions will not be related to people with disabilities of groups I and II, including disabilities related to combat actions, as well as members of families of dead veterans.
In addition, it is proposed to cancel certain preferential conditions for recalculating the assigned pensions, for example, due to the increase in the wages of the current prosecutors, etc.
The recalculation of pensions to prosecutors will take place annually since March 1, the recalculation of pensions on a general basis, taking into account the increase in monetary incomes of the population in Ukraine and the increase in consumer prices.
It should be reminded that in Ukraine it became commonplace when prosecutors are issued by themselves through court instances high pensions.
There are 6867 pensioners in Ukraine, much of whom receives a pension, continuing to work in their positions. In addition to prosecutors, special pensions from the state are also received by judges, former civil servants, law enforcement officers and military.
