The court announced a guilty verdict against two Kyivans who committed hooliganism against a female volunteer in June of this year (Part 2 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). Based on the totality of the evidence provided by the prosecution, the Obolon District Court of Kyiv found the defendants guilty of hooliganism committed by a group of persons and sentenced them to 2 years of imprisonment with the application of a 2-year probationary period

In June of this year in Kyiv, a 73-year-old man was informed of suspicion after a conflict with a volunteer in Kurenivka. The conflict occurred in the summer near the entrance to the underpass on Novokonstyantynivska Street. Two pensioners, seeing the girl, decided to pay her a few compliments, but she did not appreciate the courtship.
Not wanting to communicate, the girl replied that she did not understand men. The answer in Ukrainian provoked the aggression of inebriated pensioners, who began to insult the victim obscenely, so she decided to film them on her mobile phone.
Then, one of the accused hit her several times on the leg, and also hit her in the nose with his palm. All this happened after his accomplice took the girl’s phone. The victim managed to get the phone back. After that, the perpetrators disappeared from the scene.
