Music from the screen saver of a scientific and fiction television show (in total 11 seasons of “secret materials” were released, including the restart of 2008) became the “unexpected” hit of the 90s.
Snow was nominated 15 times for the Emmy Prize (six of them – for “Secret Materials”), he wrote music for more than 200 episodes of “Secret Materials”. He also created soundtracks for other projects, including “The Mysteries of Smolvil”, “The one who talks to the ghosts”, “her name was Nikita”, “Gelter Skelter” and “Blue Blood”.
It is noted that the composer who was educated at the Juliard School, began, like most television composers in the 1970s, to write for full orchestra, but Snow was one of the first to go into a fully electronic environment in the late 1980s, working on its own in his home studio. All music for TV “Secret Materials” (sometimes up to 40 minutes in a weekly episode) was created on its synthesizers, seplats and other music machines.
