Oleksiy Skrypnyk, a scientist, engineer and co-founder of one of the first IT companies in Ukraine, Eleks, died in Lviv on January 6 at the age of 86.
This was reported by his grandson Anton Skrypnyk.
“He was a scientist, a brilliant engineer and a systems entrepreneur, a wonderful father, grandfather and great-grandfather who always found time for his loved ones, and a mentor whose words of support and wise advice remained in people’s hearts forever. Oleksiy Ivanovych is a legend of Ukrainian IT, co-founder of the ELEKS company and an example of how one person can ignite thousands of hearts. At the age of 85, he had more fire in his eyes than many people at 25,” Anton Skrypnyk shares.
He also says that Oleksiy Skrypnyk kept himself in shape until the last day of his life, walked 6 kilometers every day and continued to work for his soul, loved his work and discipline.
Together with his son, also Oleksiy, the engineer founded the company Eleks in 1991, it became one of the first in Ukraine and at the beginning was engaged in the development of its own software products for electric power enterprises. Now Eleks is included in the list of the 50 largest IT employers of Ukraine, and also entered the rating of the 100 best outsourcing companies in the world in 2022.
