The Clintons’ attorneys said in a letter to James Comer, Republican of Kentucky, who chairs the House Oversight Committee, that the couple accepts the committee’s terms and is ready to appear to testify on agreed dates.
Literally from the Clintons’ letter: “Consistent with committee practice, please confirm that the House will not proceed with contempt of court proceedings, as the committee chairman indicated in his letter this morning.”
Details: However, Comer’s office said: “The Clintons’ attorneys said they agreed to the terms, but again those terms are not clear and they did not provide a date for testimony.”
Representative Robert Garcia of California, the senior Democrat on the committee, told reporters that the Clintons “want to talk to the oversight committee.”
