The Chinese tennis player received a 12-year ban for match-fixing

The International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) reported that the Chinese tennis player Mr. Zhenlong received a 12-year ban from tennis and a fine of $110,000 (of which $70,000 was suspended). This happened after it was established that he was involved in match-fixing or attempts to organize them, in relation to 22 matches between May and September 2024.

Pan, 25, admitted to fixing 5 of his own singles matches at the ITF World Tennis Tour M15, M25 and ATP Challenger 50 tournaments, and making 17 attempts to corrupt other professional players, leading to 6 more match-fixing.

Mr, who reached the highest singles ranking (1,316) in November 2024, agreed to an agreed penalty with the ITIA and waived his right to a hearing before the Independent Anti-Corruption Officer (AHO).

Time spent under suspension from 7 November 2024 will count towards the total ban period. Therefore, Mr. Zhenlun’s suspension will last until November 6, 2036, subject to payment of the outstanding portion of the fine.

During the period of ineligibility, you are prohibited from playing, training or attending any tennis event organized or sanctioned by ITIA members (ATP, ITF, WTA, Tennis Australia, Federation Francaise de Tennis, Wimbledon, USTA) or any national association.

The ITIA is an independent body established by members of the tennis community to support, develop and protect the integrity of professional tennis competition.
