The CEC registered Karabuta as a deputy from “Servant of the People”

The Central Election Commission registered Serhiy Karabuta as a People’s Deputy of Ukraine from the Servant of the People party after Roman Kravets resigned from the mandate.

Details: It is noted that the decision was made on January 30 at a commission meeting after consideration of the application and necessary documents. In accordance with the legislation, Karabuta was registered as a people’s deputy elected at the extraordinary parliamentary elections on July 21, 2019 in the state-wide multi-mandate district from the Servant of the People party.

Reference: Serhiy Karabuta was born on January 3, 1983 in Kyiv. In 2006, he graduated from the Institute of Tourism of the Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine, majoring in “management”, as well as from the Interregional Academy of Personnel Management.

In the same year, Karabuta became a co-founder and director of the travel company Tropicana Travel LLC. He also headed the Kyiv branch of Company Mandry LLC.

What preceded:

• On January 14, People’s Deputy of the “Servant of the People” faction Oleksandr Kabanov died.
• On January 14, the Verkhovna Rada appointed People’s Deputy, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Economic Development Dmytro Natalukha as the new head of the State Property Fund.
• On January 19, the Central Election Commission recognized Roman Kravets as the elected People’s Deputy instead of Dmytro Natalukha, who was appointed by the parliament to the position of head of the State Property Fund.
• However, on the same day, Kravets announced from abroad that he had given up his mandate. In a comment to “Ukrainian Pravda”, he explained his decision by the lack of necessary experience to work in the Verkhovna Rada during the war and stated that he was giving up his place to “the most worthy person” on the list. Serhii Karabuta was next on the electoral list after Kravets.
• January 23 The Central Election Commission recognized Serhiy Karabuta as an elected People’s Deputy.

• The “Chesno” movement reported that in 2024, “Hromadskyi” journalists recorded several trips of Roman Kravets abroad. He explained the trips by purchasing drones, but investigators wrote that he was on vacation at the time. The media also reported on his meetings with the sanctioned businessman Seyar Kurshutov and former head of the President’s Office Andriy Bohdan. The journalists also noted that at the time of his stay abroad, he was removed from the military register.
• In addition, Kravets is associated with the “Joker” Telegram channel. “Forbes” wrote that Kravets’ phone number in Getcontact is signed as “Roma Kravets Joker” by some users. “Hromadske” reported that Kravets hosted this channel and interacted with the President’s Office.
• According to “Hromadskyi”, during the full-scale war, Kravets traveled abroad at least five times.
• In addition, “Hromadske” reported that in 2015, Kravets helped Gennady Korban during by-elections to the Verkhovna Rada in the 205th district of Chernihiv region, where Korban competed with Serhiy Berezenko. Journalists called this campaign an example of “dirty technologies” and wrote about the distribution of food packages and other signs of voter bribery.
