The CEC officially registered Serhiy Karabuta as a People’s Deputy of Ukraine. He took the place of Oleksandr Kabanov, who died on January 14. Karabut will acquire his powers after taking the oath in the Verkhovna Rada.
Serhii Karabuta was elected from the “Servant of the People” party in the state-wide multi-mandate electoral district, where he was on the list at No. 156. During the meeting, the Central Election Commission considered his application and documents and, in accordance with the law, officially registered him as a people’s deputy. “During today’s meeting, the commission considered Serhiy Karabuta’s application and necessary documents and, in accordance with the law, registered him as a people’s deputy of Ukraine,” the message of the CEC reads.
Serhiy Karabuta was born on January 3, 1983 in Kyiv. In 2006, he graduated from the Institute of Tourism of the Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine with a degree in “management” and the Interregional Academy of Personnel Management. After that, he became a co-founder and director of the tourist company “Tropicana Tevel” LLC, and also headed the Kyiv branch of “Mandry Company” LLC.
In 2019, Karabuta already tried to get into the Verkhovna Rada, running for “Servant of the People” at No. 156 on the list as a non-party member, but then he did not pass. Now he will have to work in the parliament instead of the late Oleksandr Kabanov. The new People’s Deputy will be able to start working in the Verkhovna Rada after the official swearing-in, which means the beginning of his powers and the opportunity to participate in votes and committees.
“People’s deputy Karabut will acquire his powers from the moment of taking the oath in the Verkhovna Rada,” the CEC added. Serhiy Karabuta is on the Servant of the People party list and will represent the interests of the party in the parliament at the national level, continuing Kabanov’s political line, but already with his experience in business and tourism.
