The change in the cost of gas for electricity producers does not directly affect the cost of electricity for the population / photo UNIANThe Cabinet of Ministers has reduced the cost of gas for electricity producers at gas turbine and gas piston installations located on the frontline territories from 21 to 19 thousand hryvnias, the Ministry of Energy reports.
It is noted that gas will be sold at a similar price to electricity producers at thermal power stations and thermal power plants located in the frontline communities.
According to the government’s decision, the preferential gas price for electricity producers at gas turbine and gas piston installations will be valid until December 1, 2026
“In order to stimulate the operation of such generation, a preferential price for natural gas of UAH 19,000 per 1,000 cubic meters (including VAT) will be applied. The price will be effective from the moment the new contract is concluded until December 1, 2026,” noted Acting Minister of Energy of Ukraine Artem Nekrasov.
Corresponding changes were made to the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine “On Amendments to the Regulation on Imposition of Special Duties on Natural Gas Market Subjects to Ensure Public Interests in the Process of Natural Gas Market Functioning”, which also provides, in particular, for the sale of gas for heating the population at a fixed price.
