The Government of Ukraine has decided to increase the monthly surcharge for teachers who continue to teach children in frontline communities. From now on, this surcharge will be 4000 UAH after taxes.

The decision to increase supplement applies to 25,000 teachers working in 84 communities of nine areas:
- Dnepropetrovsk
- Donetsk
- Zaporizhzhya
- Lugansk
- Nikolaevskaya
- Sumy
- Kharkiv
- Kherson
- Chernihiv
The funds will be accrued in October, covering the period since September 1 this year.
The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of this work in war conditions:
“During the war, when the enemy tries to destroy us and our future, the work of Ukrainian teachers is more important … At the same time, this work is more difficult than ever – in the conditions of shelling, especially in the frontline territories.”
Plans for 2026 and greetings
Sviridenko also reported that in the budget for 2026 the government provided an increase in the salary of pedagogical staff by 50%.
Earlier the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine withPraised the distribution of 6.2 billion hryvnias of subsidies from the state budget to local budgets for teachers’ surcharges.
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has decided to raise teachers’ salaries for 2026 R. Ku at once on 50%.
