Russian troops are trying to capture the ravine in the Donetsk region, using mostly infantry assaults daily in order to achieve their goal, a representative of the press service of the 24th King Danil Andrei Polukhin said on Radio Liberty.

“The enemy tries to apply two such basic, in principle, familiar tactics. It is small group tactics when a small group tries to go through the positions of our defense forces, as well as, of course, storms in the forehead. At the moment, the Siverskyi Donets – Donbas is still such a defensive structure that we use, because it is immediately visible where the enemy’s strength is moving, and our drones or our artillery are working on it. We also use remote mine, ”said Polukhin on Radio Donbas Reality on February 4.

According to him, the Russian military is trying to destroy the concrete structures of the channel itself, to be able to ship their equipment.

A representative of the 24th OMB press service noted that there are city battles in the time ravine, because of this there is no clear line of contact.

“It is very difficult to draw a line, to understand where the opponent is, because it is because of the work of small groups that fights occur in one part or another, and that does not mean that the enemy has seized one or another area. And it is really difficult because of the very feature of city battles to understand where the enemy is located, since there is a sufficient amount of shelter. Although the enemy has tried a lot to simply destroy any building in the city itself, ”he said.

In October 2024, Polukhin reported that there was no surviving house in the city of Yar in Donetsk region.
