One of the key roles in the air combat of the future should be performed by UAVs.
The leading role will be played by UAVs / screenshot from the videoThe American company Collins Aerospace presented its vision of how a future clash between the armed forces of the United States and China could look like, where the American side will use both manned aircraft and UAVs.The relevant video was posted on the company’s YouTube channel. At the beginning of the video, you can see the deployment of the air group, in particular, American F-15, F-18 and F-35 aircraft. Also present are drones similar to the Fury UAV from Anduril and the XQ-58 Valkyrie from Kratos Defense & Security Solutions.
The video demonstrates how closely manned aircraft will interact with UAVs in the future – as you can see, drones not only detect enemy aircraft, but also launch air-to-air missiles at them.
On the Chinese side, there are fourth-generation fighters based on the Soviet Su-27. You can also see inconspicuous J-20s, which are tentatively attributed to the fifth generation.
It is noteworthy that the video does not include Chinese unmanned combat aircraft, although Beijing is very active in this direction. Apparently, in the future, the PRC wants to have a whole fleet of unmanned fighters.

Earlier, a series of photos appeared showing an American F/A-18F fighter jet carrying an unprecedented arsenal of air-to-air missiles, including AIM-174B long-range missiles.
Experts have assumed that such a missile can hit targets at a range of about 500 km. For comparison, for conventional air-to-air missiles of the AMRAAM type, this indicator is about 160-180 km.
