The court found guilty the agent of the Russian Federation, who was preparing an aerial attack by the Rashists on the high-voltage power lines of the Rivne nuclear power plant.
The man was sentenced to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property, the SBU reports.
The perpetrator was arrested in May 2025 while trying to install a GPS tracker on one of the main pylons of the power line. According to the investigation, according to the coordinates of the device, the occupiers were planning a drone attack on the energy infrastructure in order to cut off electricity in part of the northern regions of Ukraine.
As the investigation established, the agent of the Russian Federation was a former employee of the maintenance department of the Rivne NPP and acted on the instructions of the curator from Russia. During his detention, a GPS tracker and a smartphone with evidence of contacts with Russian special services were seized from him.
The case was investigated by SBU employees in the Rivne region under the procedural guidance of the regional prosecutor’s office.
Earlier, in Ternopil and Cherkasy, three car arsonists who were acting on the orders of the Russian Federation were detained. They were looking for easy money on social networks, and their targets were cars undergoing maintenance after completing combat missions on the front lines.
