The first three years Tomilov should be in prison, the rest in the strict regime colony. He was also prescribed one year of restraint of liberty after the end of punishment in the colony.
Created by Radio Liberty TV channel “Piercing Time” told the story of Tomilov: the young man was engaged in struggle and skiing at a sports school, and in 2021 he took third place in Russia’s championship with sambo. In April 2024, he went to the all -Russian stage of the All -Russian Olympiad of students, presenting the model of the wind generator.
According to the investigation, in April 2024, shortly after he was 18 years old, Tomilov secretly received a foreign passport from his parents and joined the RDC ranks through telegram bot. At interrogation in court, the young man said he only filled the electronic questionnaire of the unit and left contact in the telegram for communication. After that, according to security officers, he was invited to Tbilisi, asking him to bring $ 1,500 “for accommodation.” Tomilov took a micro -loite at 45 thousand rubles, and on May 9, 2024 he left Irbitite to Yekaterinburg, and then bought a ticket for Tbilisi on May 11 at Koltsovo Airport.
The young man’s parents, realizing that he had disappeared, called the police. Later, they were able to contact their son, and in correspondence with his father told that he intended to leave and sent him a video of the RDC. As a result, they managed to refuse Vadim from the trip. The parents also told the security officers of the hostel, in which Tomilov stopped, and sent a correspondence with him employee. The security forces detained Tomilov on the same day in the hostel.
One of Vadim’s relatives told reporters that after detention, Tomilov was tortured by FSB staff. The court appointed a check on the statement of Tomilov on violence of security forces, but the case was denied the case for this reason.
In court, Tomilov called his desire to join the RDC a “youth protest” and emphasized that he refused this idea before detention: so, he said, he called his parents the address of the hostel and agreed to return home.
