Born in 1924, he went through the war, liberated Ukraine and Europe, received combat awards. He devoted his whole life to swimming, raising more than one generation of athletes, for whom he became not only a coach, but also an example of strength of spirit, kindness and dedication to work.

Even in his good years, Georgy Dmytrovych continued to conquer swimming pools: he set Ukrainian, European and world records in the “Masters” category, won more than 40 medals and 4 cups, participated in international competitions in Kazan, Lviv, Kyiv and Budapest,” the statement reads.

Throughout his career, George Chyzhevsky was engaged in swimming and trained children, raised several masters of sports in swimming.

As an adult, the Ukrainian participated in national, continental and world competitions in his age category. He became the world champion in 2015 and 2017, set the European record in the distance of 200 m breaststroke in the category of 90+ years. He has more than 40 sports medals and 4 cups.

We will remind that on October 18, it became known about the death of Denys Noskov, a former player of a number of clubs of the basketball Super League and the national team of Ukraine 3×3.
