Thanks to the song about Bandera, the Ukrainian military silences the enemy “Daggers”: how it works

We are talking about such a Ukrainian system as “Lima”.

photo WikipediaThis missile, which the Russians are launching, moves very fast / photo WikipediaUkraine may have found a way to counter one of the Russian Federation’s most advanced and most dangerous missiles, the Dagger, with the help of radio electronic suppression and music. This is reported by Interesting Engineering.

It is known that “Dagger” can be launched from modified MiG-31 interceptors and carry a warhead weighing 450 kg to a distance of more than 480 km.

This missile moves so fast that even American Patriot air defense systems cannot intercept it, which is why Russia often uses this weapon when shelling Ukrainian power plants and cities.

How music helps Ukraine At the same time, the Ukrainian military says that its own “Lima” radio-electronic warfare system (EWS) successfully interferes with the operation of the “Kinzhal” guidance system.

The operators emphasized that the system operated by the Ukrainian unit “Night Watch” has silenced or diverted about a dozen “Daggers” over the past two weeks.

It is noted that the fighters of the “Night Watch” replaced the missile’s satellite navigation signal with the Ukrainian patriotic anthem “Batko nash Bandera”, which is dedicated to the nationalist Stepan Bandera.

“Any non-standard information provided to a satellite-guided missile by forgery can cause a navigation error. This helps the unit also ‘counter Russian propaganda’ while protecting Ukrainian targets,” the material adds.

Compared to traditional EW systems that broadcast noise to suppress signals, Lima uses digital suppression, combining jamming, spoofing and cyber attacks to confuse the weapon’s navigation receiver. Such a multi-level attack is aimed not only at disruption, but also at misleading.

Analysts say that Russian glider bombs can deviate by 50-100 meters under the influence of “Lima”.

Even Russian military bloggers admit that the bombs “lose the ability to accurately correct the flight” and miss the target due to such a system.

“The announcement of the success of the Lima system underscores how Ukraine is adapting to Russia’s long-range strike campaign through innovation rather than equality of firepower. As warfare moves increasingly into the realm of electronic and informational dominance, systems like the Lima could prove decisive, rendering Russia’s most advanced missiles ineffective and costly,” Interesting Engineering concluded.

Other gun newsAs UNIAN wrote, earlier European benefactors gave Ukraine a “fighter in the spirit of the Second World War”, namely the Yak-52, which will perform the role of a fighter and fight against Russian drones.

It is known that the Yak-52 itself is a Soviet sports and training aircraft that first took to the skies in 1974.

At the same time, Defense Express wrote that the ERAM missiles created for Ukraine will become the basis for a new cheap air defense system. It is noted that the US project is implemented specifically for Ukraine, and two cruise missiles from the companies Zone 5 Technologies and CoAspire are hiding under it.
