“The SZR calls Moscow’s statements “an information operation to disrupt the agreements reached between the presidents of Ukraine and the United States.””, — write: www.radiosvoboda.org
The SSR calls these statements by Moscow “an information operation to disrupt the agreements reached between the presidents of Ukraine and the United States.”
Foreign intelligence notes that the operation began with the corresponding statement of Sergey Lavrov, then within two hours Lavrov’s narrative was picked up and developed by other Russian speakers: Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Oleksandr Hrushko, Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation Yuriy Ushakov, Chairman of the Just Russia for Truth Party S. Mironov, Leader of the LDPR Party Slutsky, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Defense of the Russian Federation Zhuravlev. Such promptness and coordination, according to the SZR, indicates that the operation was carried out in accordance with Putin’s instructions and in accordance with the approved “dungeons”.
The Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine claims that there are a number of facts that indicate that the information about the attack on Putin’s residence is a fake. In particular, as SZR points out, during December 29, local residents of the Novgorod region did not report the UAV attack and its consequences – now we see, as Ukrainian intelligence claims, the Kremlin is trying to correct the situation by spreading fake messages on Russian social networks (Vkontakte) on behalf of the alleged residents of the city of Valdai. The SSR also draws attention to the lack of actual evidence (debris, photos, videos) of downed UAVs, which the Kremlin has not been able to present for almost a day after the start of the information operation.
Today, December 31, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation published a flight diagram of the UAVs that allegedly attacked the residence, and a video of one of the downed drones.
The Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine draws attention to the fact that “the UAV fake is the Kremlin’s nervous reaction” to the progress achieved as a result of the talks between the presidents of Ukraine and the United States in Mar-a-Lago.
“In the future, Russia will use the theme of “attacks on Valdai” to justify strengthening its negotiating position, future combined attacks on Ukraine on New Year’s holidays and discrediting the Ukrainian leadership,” said the SZR message published on social networks on December 30.
The day before, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov accused Ukraine of attacking the residence of Russian President Vladimir Putin in Valdai. Lavrov claimed that on the night of December 29, Kyiv allegedly launched 91 drones at Putin’s state residence, and all the drones were destroyed.
The Russian minister said that because of the attack, Moscow will revise its position in the negotiations “taking into account the final transition of the Kyiv regime to a policy of state terrorism.” Russia has determined the objects for retaliatory strikes and the time of their task, Lavrov said.
This statement was made against the background of negotiations between Ukraine and the United States regarding a peaceful settlement of the war.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi called Lavrov’s statement “another lie” aimed at justifying strikes on Ukraine.
US President Donald Trump said he learned about the attack from Putin and was “very angry.” At the same time, he admitted that it was “possible” that the Russian accusation was false and that there was no such attack, and then added: “But President Putin told me this morning that this is what happened.”
Russia’s statement that Ukraine recently struck key government facilities in Russia is a deliberate distraction, according to the EU’s high representative for foreign affairs, Kaya Callas.
“Moscow seeks to disrupt the real progress of Ukraine and its Western partners in the direction of peace,” she wrote on December 31 on social media. H. Kallas added that “no one should accept the unsubstantiated statements of the aggressor, who since the beginning of the war has indiscriminately attacked the infrastructure and civilian population of Ukraine.”
