Direct speech: “The air defense system functions in extremely difficult conditions of constant enemy missile and drone attacks, protecting the country from the daily threat from the air.

In such conditions, the stability of the system depends on many factors. In particular, the rhythmic supply of means of destruction, technology, effective personnel and management solutions, the ability to quickly adapt to new challenges, the rejection of outdated bureaucratic practices.
Over the past two years, the effectiveness of the air defense system has remained at the level of about 74%. We are trying to increase this percentage thanks to innovations.”
Details: The general noted that anti-aircraft missile troops, which are all-weather, remain the main and most effective means in difficult weather conditions. In favorable weather conditions, aviation, helicopters and interceptor drones are actively involved.
This makes it possible to destroy 70 percent, and sometimes more, of all means of air attack, adds Syrsky.
With regard to how the higher military command increases the effectiveness of the unmanned air defense component, the head noted that a complex of organizational measures is currently underway:
- redistribution of functions between anti-aircraft missile troops and a new type of troops that will be responsible for covering important objects is planned;
- the number and quality of interceptor drones is increasing;
- there is active interaction with partners to solve the problem of the shortage of missiles for anti-aircraft missile systems and fighter aircraft.
What preceded: The Air Force launched the direction of small anti-aircraft defense.
Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov noted that the direction is being formed under the leadership of the Deputy Commander of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Pavel Yelizarov. The process is headed by Colonel Yevhenii Khlebnikov.
