The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, stated this in an interview with Radio Bayraktar.
“I don’t want to introduce a dictatorship like that in North Korea… We are not the first to fight in the world – wars are happening and a certain set of actions has developed that must be carried out,” said Syrskyi.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces noted that censorship during wartime is regulated by the law of Ukraine and is a forced measure that is not aimed at restricting the rights of citizens, but ensures security.
As an example, Sirsky cited military operations in Kharkiv and Kursk regions, when it was important to keep the details of the actions of the Armed Forces secret. He emphasized that although sensitive information cannot be disclosed, citizens should receive up-to-date information about the progress of the war:
“It is necessary to talk about the real situation so that people understand that the war is here, next to us. That people here are injured and, unfortunately, killed. So that there would not be such a sharp difference between the front and the rear.”
