The Ukrainian army plans to increase the time for basic combined military training. It is expected that the relevant project will start already in October-November 2024.

This was announced by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrskyi.

“Quality training is one of the main factors in preserving the life of a Ukrainian soldier. We are making maximum efforts for this,” said the general.

Syrsky said that he held a working meeting on this issue with the participation of heads of military administration bodies that take care of training, as well as commanders of combat brigades and heads of training centers.

They discussed problematic issues that affect the quality of training of military personnel and worked out ways to solve them. Also, directions for improving educational programs were considered at the meeting.

According to the Commander-in-Chief, instructors play a key role in the quality of training. Therefore, maximum attention is paid to attracting motivated instructors with combat experience.

The army is also working on the possibility of creating a School of Instructors, which will be the main and only source of well-trained instructors, Sirskyi said.

Earlier, Sirsky named five tasks of the operation in the Kursk region. The Ukrainian command, with the help of an operation in the Kursk region, wanted to prevent the Russian offensive on the Sumy Oblast and draw the aggressor’s troops from other directions.

Ukraine managed to significantly reduce the gap in the ratio of ammunition with Russia. Currently, this ratio is approximately 1:2, said the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi.
