It is noted that during the inspection, the commander of the military unit was suspended from official duties.
The General Staff adds that an official inspection was already carried out in September 2024 based on the specified facts, as a result of which the relevant criminal proceedings were initiated.
As “Ukrainian Pravda” writes, in April 2022, the 211th pontoon-bridge brigade was formed, headed by Colonel Oleg Poberezhniuk. His wife worked in the territorial center of recruitment and social support (TCC and SP) in Kamianets-Podilskyi, and people from Poberezhnyuk’s close circle began to appear in the unit.
For example, his godfather Valery Pastukha was appointed deputy commander of the brigade, and Pastuha’s son Vladyslav, who is Poberezhniuk’s godson, was given the position of commander of one of the platoons in the first battalion. Later it became known that Vladyslav used physical violence against the soldiers of the unit and demanded money from them.
Colonel Poberezhnyuk himself sent four soldiers to Khmelnytskyi, where they were engaged in the construction of his private house. At the same time, no one bore any responsibility for these actions.
